Uganda Tourism Board

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) is the official government destination marketing agency its main task is to promote and market Uganda as Africa's preferred tourism destination. In this regard, UTB collaborates with various government organisations as well as commercial tourist industry players. UTB does not provide private tours, but also represents tourism sector participants and promotes them for the benefit of the public. Uganda tourism board controls both the travel and tour industry as well as commercial lodging in Uganda. It is in charge of inspecting all tourism services and facilities to verify that they meet all international standards and provide world-class facilities to the tourist coming from around the world. The function of Uganda's tourist board is to develop a tourist marketing plan for Uganda in collaboration and consultation with the business sector and appropriate institutions, To put the marketing plan into action and promote Uganda as an appealing, secure, and sustainable tourism destination,UTB ensures that domestic tourism in Uganda should be encouraged and promoted, tourist investment should be increased and, when feasible, to divert such investment to less developed tourism regions and In consultation and collaboration with relevant institutions, to promote and fund educational programs and training in the tourist sector, including schools.
